This fitted shoe storage cupboard was made for a house in Billericay, Essex. It is a very narrow space that had been a cloak room with the shoes ending up piled on the floor and a freestanding shoe rack. Our clients wanted to make better use of the space and to be able to fit in many more shoes in an organised manner. The design we arrived at has two traditional panelled doors with angled shoe storage and a space at the bottom for wellington boots. It is slightly offset to the right so the left door avoids the radiator when opened. The fitted furniture had to be designed and constructed in an unusual manner as it was not possible to build or move the furniture around in the narrow space. The owners came to us as they wanted to use cabinet makers to create a high quality solution and have it all made in a workshop and not in their home.

The large white fitted bookcase was designed for a particular space in a Mews house in South Kensington London. Our clients had lots of books and wanted to ensure that they had adequate shelving whilst keeping the room as airy aspossible. The corner configuration maximises the available space and the height finishes short of the ceiling and inline with the pelmet making the room feel spacious. The shelves are all height adjustable and are made from laminated hardwood. The cabinets are brushed in Farrow & Ball strong white. Both end panels are fully panelled as are all the uprights. The large decorative cornice further enhances the traditional quality of the hand made bespoke bookcase.

Currently we are making wall to wall fitted traditional cabinets. The lower middle cabinet sits below a window and the cabinets will be scribed to fit the walls and ceiling. Decorative mouldings, panelled doors and solid timber bookcase shelves all create the character required in the room. The cabinetry will all be painted white.

Before And After Images, showing the ceiling of a stairway that cuts through the floor and wall of a bedroom. The previous owners had built this wooden carbunkle to disguise it and add storage. The new home owners contacted us and asked us to design and make a solution that provided a lot more storage and reduce the visual impact of the diagonal wedge that had to remain.

The panelled doors match other wardrobes that we built for the client. The solid oak steps echo the solid oak bookcase shelves and create visual interest whilst acting as a means of providing access to the high up shelves. There is a secret touch open door on the left side to maximise the available storage.

These bespoke period traditional wardrobes were designed and made for a property in East London. They have pull down clothes rails to provide easy access to high stored garments. The white drawers are graduated to provide different depth drawers and the two middle cabinet doors have mirrors on the insides allowing you to see your back at the same time as your front. The cabinetry has period moulding details on the doors and end panels and is a bespoke furniture commission.

We always strive to make things move along as easily as possible. Here is out latest review;

"Andrew designed and installed our media unit in our family room and then later we had him design, build and install our dressing room area. In all cases he was very professional, courtesy and easy to work with. In contrast to most others we enquired with, he contacted us almost immediately post enquiry and within a few days had visited to scope the first project. He was able to interpret our ideas easily and apply his design flair (others we dealt were unable to do this). The work was finished to a high quality, we are very happy with it and it will last for many many years we are sure. Highly recommended".

We have now installed the bespoke alcove units that we showed previously being made at our workshop. They fit either side of a chimney breast and are scribed to fit the floor, walls and ceiling. The TV is fitted onto an extending arm with the cables running behind a panel into the cabinet below. The glass doors in the upper section help to add interest and break up the solidity of the fitted furniture.

The images show the installation of an under eaves contemporary storage cabinet for a property in Islington London. The interior is a mixture of sprayed white surfaces and oak veneer with two clothes rails and shelving. It has touch open doors with a sprayed white finish. The handmade storage wardrobe/cupboards are scribed to fit the walls and ceiling. Designed, made and installed by Carpenter & Carpenter Ltd. The fitted furniture was made at our workshop in Essex and fully assembled to check that it would fit perfectly. It was then taken to pieces sprayed and installed on site.
